The Tags (Transponder)
The tags consist essentially of a coil, which is the antenna, and a very small chip that processes the electrical signals. The tag has no battery. The required energy is supplied from the antenna through the air. This very low energy is sufficient that the tag responds with its unique identifier, thus returning an electromagnetic pulse to the antenna.
A tag is therefore in every poker card and every poker chip.
The Reader (Receiver, Interogator)
The reader is the core component. Here, all antennas are connected. The receiver provides the antenna with energy and converts the collected data. Via a network interface, this information will be forwarded to the FlashPokerManager.
The ITS-Module (Item Tracking System)
The ITS module of the RFID technology is a real revolution! The intelligent system tracks cards and chip movements and evaluates them.
Sensors inside the table receive the IDs of the cards and then pass them on to our software, which processes the data and outputs them to multiple screens.
The RFID Tag
For the development and testing of our software and the poker table, we use RFID tags that are glued directly onto the cards.
The turns of the coil receive the electromagnetic waves and pass them to the small chip in the center. The chip sends out to back his ID.
The RFID Tags of a standard card deck are inside the cards. You can not feel nor see the antennas.
