Our Hemp Fleece is a stretch knit fabric made from 55% Hemp and 45% organic cotton. The hemp fabric is manufactured at 280-350 gsm and measures approx 59 inches across when cut. It has a soft fleecy surface on one side and a smooth interlock surface on the other.
Hemp Fleece is actually made from French Terry, so their absorbency is nearly identical. The looped side of French Terry is just brushed to make a fleecy surface similar to the inside of tracksuit material.
Although it's quite a heavy fabric, its weight doesn't mean it's bulky. Hemp makes wonderfully trim diapers with superior absorbency to cotton diapers, and has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties to boot.
It is the softest of all our hemp fabrics and is the most popular fabric used to make diapers. It is also great for sweatshirts, jackets, sweatpants, leg warmers and other apparel which uses regular cotton fleece. It is also used as a lining fabric for jackets and other thick outerwear.
It's also a beautiful fabric for tracksuits, pajamas, mama pads, diaper boosters, bunny rugs and just about anything else you could use a fleecy fabric for.
