The use of these devices in catalysed engines converted to alternative fuels allows for constant adjustment of the carburetion, and maintenance of the correct air-fuel ratio (stoichiometry) in all operational conditions during alternative fuel mode. The adjustments can be performed manually by the use of micro-switches, or with the help of more sophisticated instruments such as PCs or hand-held testers.
