Hollow fiber membrane is an artificial membrane, or synthetic membrane, which is usually intended for separation purposes in laboratory or in industry. Synthetic membranes have been successfully used for small and large-scale industrial processes.
The best known synthetic membrane separation processes include water purification, reverse osmosis, dehydrogenation of natural gas, and removal of cell particles by microfiltration and ultrafiltration, removal of microorganisms from dairy products, and dialysis.

Application:
Industries such as chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage processing, and waste water treatment, employ ultrafiltration in order to recycle flow or add value to later products. But also blood dialysis belongs to ultrafiltration.
In drinking water purpose: Hollow fiber can be used for the removal of particulates and macromolecules from raw water to produce potable water.
Protein Concentration: Hollow fiber is used extensively in the dairy industry, fruit juice concentration, pretreatment of RO System.
