We can produce a magnet of virtually any size and shape - this can be accomplished by cutting, grinding and epoxying raw stock to your finished size and shape. Note that this method is generally not cost effective for large volumes unless there is no other way of producing the finished magnet. Custom fabrication makes sense for smaller volumes, complex shapes not otherwise manufacturable, very tight dimensional or magnetic orientation tolerances, or when you need product immediately.
Production Tooling for High Volumes
Tooling costs for sintering or casting a magnet to size vary depending on the type, size, shape and projected production volumes of the magnet required. Tooling costs generally vary from a few thousand to several tens of thousands of dollars. However, when amortized over larger volumes, this is sometimes the most economical way of producing a custom magnet.
