H. Pylori Rapid Test kit:  13C Urea Breath Test for the clinical diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori (H.

Pylori) infection. As 13C is a kind of stable isotope, 13C Breath Test is applicable for all ages and types of

subjects, including pregnant women and young children.

13C-Urea Breath Test Principle:

 H. pylori produce an enzyme, urease, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of urea to ammonium and

carbon dioxide. H. pylori require the alkaline ammonium in order to establish an optimal local

mucosal environment within the acidic milieu of the stomach. The produced carbon dioxide

(CO2) is diffused into the blood vessels and is further transported as bicarbonate to the lungs

where it is exhaled as CO2 with the exhaled air. This is used in the Urea Breath Test method

(UBT).
