Laminated flooring consists 4 kinds material.
Surface Layer: The upper layer of laminate flooring, the material is crystallization AL2O3, so it's high wear resistance layer.so it protect the flooring against with friction.
Decorative Paper: Different kinds of colors for laminate flooring, because of different kinds of decorative paper.
HDF(Core Board): The Core based board of flooring. all of the paper attached on the board.
Balance paper: Because of the overlay and decorative paper is melamine paper. It has tension, so it needs the balance paper to keep balance, then the floor is straight, not bend.
