2. Description:
This cantilever type electro-slag welding machine is mainly used for welding the seams between baffle plate and bottom plate of the box beam. The wire type for box-beam baffle plate electro-slag welding adopts special contact tube. When welding wire is fed the contact tube will be lifted. Features for wire melt electro-slag welding:
a. Because the contact tube will be lifted when welding, electro-slag welding part’s structure will be complex, so as the contact tube. Its welding power often uses American Lincoln welding machine, so this cost is higher than nozzle melt type.
b. The contact tube won’t melt when welding, it can be recycled, so the cost will reduce.
c. Using φ1.6mm thin welding wire, current density is larger, and wire melting speed is faster, so the welding efficiency will be improved.
