Its chemical composition, mechanical properties, weldability, formability and corrosion resistance provide the best all-round performance at a relatively low cost. It is used in a wide range of products across many different industries. The balanced austenitic structure of Grade 304 enables it to be severely deep drawn without intermediate annealing, which has made this grade dominant in the manufacture of drawn stainless parts.
