So, ASTM A36 carbon steel plate can be used in atmospheric storage tanks, atmospheric pressure vessels, nonpressure parts of pressure vessels such as saddles, supports, etc. But in no way to use ASTM A36 carbon steel plate in pressure parts of pressure vessels such shells, heads, etc.
