Sintered Metal Flame Arresters
Sintered metal flame arresters are designed to prevent the propagation of flames in gas or vapor handling systems. They are typically composed of a cylindrical housing with a sintered metal element inside. The element is made up of multiple layers of metal powder that are compressed and sintered (heated without melting) to form a porous material with precise pore sizes and distribution.
When a flammable gas or vapor mixture passes through the flame arrester, the element acts as a filter, allowing the gas or vapor to flow through while trapping any flames or sparks. Application
Oil storage tanks are commonly used to store crude oil, refined petroleum products, and other flammable liquids. In order to prevent the risk of fire or explosion, flame arresters are often installed on the vents of these tanks.
