Introduction
Laboratory PH combination electrode consists of a measuring electrode and a reference electrode.

Operation & maintenance
1. Before in use, the electrode should be calibrated by standard buffer solution with known PH value. In order to improve the accuracy of the measurement, PH value of the buffer of the measurement, PH value of the buffer solution should be reliable and as close to PH value of sample solution as possible, within 3 PH units normally.
2. The sensing glass bulb in the tip of the electrode can not touch with hard materials. Any damage or scratch will result in the failure of the electrode.
3. BNC socket is adopted. It must be kept clean and dry. If there is any contamination, use absorbent cotton and absolute alcohol to clean and air dry. Absolutely prevent it from short circuit of the output end, otherwise the measurement will be incorrect and disabled. Before the electrode with temperature compensation in use, insert the plugs of BNC and NTC respectively in the correspondent sockets on PH meter.
4.The protective cap is filled with certain electrolyte solution to wet the tip of the electrode and to activate the glass bulb & liquid junction. If it is dried, fill in the solution or distilled water.
5.The making of the filling solution:
take one pack ofpH4.00 buffer reagent , dissolve it into 250mI deionized water and add 56g potassium chloride(analysis pure grade), heating for some time and agitating to have it dissolved completely.
If the electrode needs to be activated in a shoatime,3.3M potassium chloride solution could be used also, the making Of this solution is:
take 56g potassium chloride (analysis pure grade)and dissolve it into 100ml deionized water
6.Make sure that air bubbles in the glass bulb should be removed before in use.
Otherwise it will lead to measurement error.
The electrode should be Stirred in the sample solution for a while and then stopped so as to shorten the response time
7. Before and after the measurement.
The electrode should be cleaned by deionized water to make sure the accuracy of the electrode. When the measurement is finished in viscous solution,remove the protective cap firstly and clean the electrode repeatedly so as to remove the sample solution which adheres to the glass membrane.
Or use a suitable solvent to clean the electrode firstly and then deionized water.
8.The electrode should not be immersed into distilled water, or protein solution and acid fluoride for a long time,and prevent it from contact with organic silica grease.
9.The life of the electrode is about one year, when it is aging,replace it with a new electrode.

Suitable for aqueous media in lab in general,water-based emulsion, water-based suspension, paintings and water-based inks,in aquariums, waste water treatment, field measurement, swimming pool and etc .
