Recycling these materials is becoming easier, as many recycling centers now take them. Simply collect all your bags into one larger bag and toss them into the bin on your next shopping trip. You can also reuse plastic bags. Many stores, such as Whole Foods Market (wholefoodsmarket.com), offer a small discount for reusing bags. You can also use plastic bags for smaller things, such as carrying your lunch to work.
