Overview
Tempering glass can be devided into flat and curved/bent toughened glass according to its shape.
Curved/bent tempered glass made from float glass via a thermal tempering process, then curved the steel glass.
Advantages
- High strength. it is approximately 3-5 times more resistant than normal glass. As an example a piece of 8mm toughened glass will be able to withstand a steel ball weighing 300-500gr dropped from a height of 2 meters.
- Heat stability. It can withstands abrupt temperature change of 220-250 Centigrade, which is 3-5 times more than normal float glass.
- Safety. If the glass does break, there is far less risk of injury from broken pieces.
- Special shape.
Application
- Architectural material, e.g. greenhouse, building template, window and door, curtain wall, interior trim, etc.
- Furniture industry, e.g. table top, cupboard, etc.
- Elevator glass
