Cross flow fan are sometimes referred to as tangential fans. Both names try to describe the operation of the fan. Air is moved by the impeller creating a vortex inside the impeller wheel and along its impeller length, off set from its axis. This vortex pulls air into the impeller and throws it out approximately on the opposite side, hence the name cross flow. As the vortex is off set the air passing through passes past the vortex at a tangent to the vortex, hence the name tangential.
Cross flow fan are utilized in commercial and industrial applications nationally. With both AC cross flow fan and DC cross flow fan versions available we can offer cooling solutions that will provide excellent thermal and acoustic performance.
The blowers are available with 25-150mm diameter blower wheels and can come in lengths from 50-1150mm.
Cross flow fan create a wide flow of air using a long cylindrical-shaped impeller. Air is drawn in along the sides of the runner, flows along the circumference of the runner and is blown out laterally, creating a uniform flow of air. Cross flow fans are used for cooling circuit boards installed in equipment, air curtains and other applications. In addition, cross flow fans offer the advantages of right-angle air flow and rectangular shape which facilitates installation in corners and saves space.
The aluminum alloy cross flow fan is temperature resistant and is very light weight, low in noise and produces very little vibration. The design of the blower wheel is such that is minimizes vibraion resonance and can easily be modified to any customer's specs.
