Made from AISI 4145H alloy steel and fully heat treated, all its physical properties conform to the latest API Spec7. Heavy drill pipe is the transition section between ordinary kelly and drill collar. It can relieve the stress concentration of the combination of drill collar and kelly during the transition. Besides, it can provide drill pressure and reduce the linked area of drill stem and side wall, as well as wear rate of OD. There is an upset section in the middle of drill pipe. The drill pipe and joint are welded with cemented carbidehardbanding, which can efficiently keep the pipe from wearing. HWDP can replace drill collar and solve series of problems appearing in the vertical well of softer geological structure. Its advantages are as follows:

Our IHWDP, Shanxi Weigao Integral Heavy Weight Drill Pipe is welded with standard hardbanding on the two ends' joints and middle-upset section. Both pin and box end have one 4" hardbanding (one 1" hardbanding on 18shoulders of the box end can be added according to customers' requirement) and the middle-upset section has one 3" hardbanding. The sickness of hardbanding is within 1/8" of the abutting surface (it can be increased if needed).
