I\The usage and scope
The tester is applied to determine 501000ppm water content in liquid petroleum
products accordingly to the national standard method, GB11133-89, "Determination of water in liquid petroleum products", which is adapted from Karl Fisher method.
Dissociative alkali\metal oxide\oxidant\reductant\inorganic salt of weak acid
containing oxygen, mercaptans \certain nitrogen compounds and other chemical
compounds reacted with the iodine will affect the result of measurement. Titration error caused by 1ppm sulphur (e.g., mercaptans) is approximately equivalent to 0.2ppm water.
II\Configuration and main specification
1.The equipment is consist of glass apparatus and control box. Glass apparatus is
composed with one set of titration bottle, brown reagent bottle and 2 sets of 10ml
auto-burette. The glass apparatus is installed on the table board of control box, one
reagent bottle is filled with reagent and the other with sample solvent. The connection of glass apparatus is sealed completely.
2.The control box is consist of: electromagnetism stirring, battery case etc.. The front
plate is consist of : micro-amp meter, Potentiometers, indicator, power switch, stirring
control knob, calibration knob, platinum electrode socket etc.
The main components specification of equipment as follows:
1. 10ml auto-burette: scale 010ml, 0.05ml/grid, dryer cell filled with Anhydrous
calcium chloride on the top. The mouth of two-way valve is connected with dryer, and
the mouth of three-way valve is connected with titration bottle.
2. brown reagent bottle:500ml
3. Titration bottle: 200ml, with 5 necks: titration unit, platinum electrode, feed inlet gas inlet (connected to dryer canister)\discharge outlet. It is installed and fixed on the
clamping ring.
4. Electromagnetism stirring: 220V power supply, new design of speed adjustment
which allow smooth changing of stirring speed.
5. DC micro-amp meter: 1.5 grade, sensitivity of 10, input resistance of 1500Ω.
6. Gas dryer tube.
