Dian hong "Yunnan Red", is a Chinese black tea which is used as a relatively high end gourmet black tea and is sometimes used in various tea blends. The main difference between Dian hong and other Chinese black teas is the amount of fine leaf buds, or "golden tips," present in the dried tea. Dianhong has large plump leaves and a thin layer of white fur on the surface.

I wasn't quite sure I'd like it upon first sniff, but when brewed, I found a strong but not overpowering brew with good body and just a hint of smokiness , I really enjoy smoked teas, so this was very pleasant as part of my frequent rotation.
Description:
Black tea is a type of tea that is more oxidized than oolong, green and white teas. All four types are made from leaves of the shrub (or small tree) Camellia sinensis. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor than the less oxidized teas.
Generally, 2.25 grams of tea per 200 ml of water, or about a teaspoon of black tea per 8 oz. cup, should be used. Unlike green teas, which turn bitter when brewed at higher temperatures, black tea should be steeped in freshly boiled water,around 90 to 95. When the tea has brewed long enough to suit the tastes of the drinker, it should be strained while serving.
