Product Description
Lost foam casting process (EPC process) is to let foamed plastic beads (good EPC material) become prepared casting shape according to foaming molding, bury in the dry sand after baking coating, vacuum pumping, pouring metal liquid, becoming casting or craft after cooling.
Advantages:
1. High precision casting: Lost foam casting is no stock, high precision new process. This process is no need to take the mold, no mould joint, no sand core, so the casting is no fin, no burr, no pattern draft, reducing the dimension error because of mold core combination.
2. Flexible design provides sufficient degree of freedom for the design of casting structure. The original is equipped by several parts, now it can make casting by several foamed plastic mould lamination. The original hole needs to do processing. Now the hole can cast directly without sand core, greatly saving the cost of mechanical processing and core moulding. It can make complex mould by several mould laminations.
3. Don't have sand core of traditional casting. Don't have the inhomogeneous wall thickness of traditional sand casting because the dimension of sand core is not accurate and the position of core setting is not accurate.
4. Clean production: Don't have chemical binder,foam plastic is completely harmless to environment in the low temperature. It discharges few organism when it is pouring. However it is convenient to put together to be disposed of owing to the short discharged time and the consolidated place. Lost foam casting adopt dry sand molding, greatly reducing the workload of casting shakeout and cleaning, greatly reducing the noise and dust of the workshop. The recovery rate of used sand is up to above 95%.
Labor intensity low, light in model weight, dust can concentrate collection, little health hazard for workers.
5. Reduce the cost of investment and production. Sand reclamation system can be greatly simplified. Don't have the cost of chemical binder. The die is long life. It is less consumption than traditional casting die. Because casting wall thickness reduces, it can save cost of investment. Reduce the number of required workers, production and casting can realize automation, completely changing the images of " bitter, dirty, tired" of traditional casting
