FC fiber optic adapter: there are three main kinds of FC fiber optic adapters: square type, single 'D' type and double also called 'DD' type. All FC fiber optic adapters are with metal housing, single mode FC fiber optic adapters are with zirconia sleeves, multimode FC fiber optic adapters are with phosphorous bronze sleeves. FC connectors are also available in pre-assembled (one-piece) versions, and in unassembled kits.
SC fiber optic adapters are well with plastic housing and seldom meet with metal housing for special applications. There are different colors: blue for single model PC, green for single model APC and beige for multimode PC. All SC fiber optic adapters are flange type, single mode adapters are with zirconia sleeves while multimode fiber optic adapters are phosphorous bronze sleeves. SC fiber optic adapters are available with simple adapter, duplex adapters and quad adapters. SC connectors are also available in pre-assembled (one-piece) versions, and in unassembled kits.
ST fiber optic adapters are all threaded type, with metal housing, single mode ones are with zirconia sleeves and multimode ones are with phosphorous bronze sleeves. ST fiber optic adapters are simplex adapters. ST connectors are also available in pre-assembled (one-piece) versions, and in unassembled kits.
