Competitive Advantage:
This is a small, wedge base bulb, that may work for many wedge base applications. Side markers, parking lamps, door lamps, interior lamps, map lights, et cetera. My specific intent was for those little lamps that illuminate my rear license plate. In my state, there is a specific vehicle code which requires that the rear license plate be lit by a white light, and visible from 50 feet.
On my car, these did not fit into the license plate lamp housing. A fraction of an inch makes all the difference in the world.
The lamps do work. They are very bright. They could easily fit into my high mount lamp, reverse lamp, and front side marker. Keep in mind that these are very bright when you are looking at them. Meaning that other people will see you easily. But they are not the ideal lamp for illumination. The light will not "throw" for great distances. So just because the wedge base will plug and play, do not use this in a light housing which is meant to illuminate the road, such as driving lamps, fog lamps, and headlights. You will not see where you're going.
