It combines high precision metrology along with none-wire communication and contractual management methodology. It is a single phase two wires electric Watt-hour meter that operates in prepayment and credit mode. The meter can alter its payment mode by the command received from head-end server. Utility can choose from various contractual billing contro with this meterl for consumers.
The core principle of AMI Solution is getting connected, which means the smart meters as in the bottom layer must be connected via various feasible communications with the head-end server. The CA168-M operates with a plug-in module for data collection and communications . This modular design provides utility full alternatives of PLC/RF/GPRS/3G and 4G LTE cellular data networks according to local infrastructure conditions, which vastly reduces their operational cost. As for frequent communication with the server, the communication module is more volunable than the meter body itself. Then upgrade and maintenance will also become economic by replacing the modules only instead of the entire meter.
