Life raft
Set on board, when the ship is in distress, it is used as a life raft.
The life raft refers to persons in distress can maintain the life raft from the ship. Life rafts play an important role in survival of ship distress. In some unexpected situations, such as sudden sinking of ship, the life raft can quickly and automatically inflate. Life raft and lifeboat are important survival equipment, and in some ways better than the lifeboat, especially when a ship in distress to produce severe longitudinal tilt and roll, the lifeboat can't dipping, life raft can still effectively play a role, so in the boat life raft and save boats have equally important status.

Structure
Life raft is a modern craft of artificial synthetic materials, including metal pipe, composite pipe, plastic pipe, synthetic resin or glass fiber pipe and other materials.

3, strength

1983 amendments to the Convention, an increase of inflatable liferaft inflatable molding time requirements, under normal temperature (range from 18 to 20 DEG C) should be within 1 minute fully inflated; at low temperature (- 30 DEG C) should be within 3min inflation.
Using method
The total weight of life raft should not exceed 185kg. Appearance should be symmetrical, uniform color, shall not affect the use of glue, separation, bubbles and other defects, in - 10 ~ +65 C ambient storage without damage; and can be used in - 1 + 30 DEG C water temperature range.
Liferaft usually packaging and storage in glass steel storage barrel, life raft is installed in ship special on raft frame, the raft and thrown into water, life raft can automatically inflated forming for the distress personnel to take, if the ship is sinking too fast too late to raft tossed into the water. When the ship sank in water under a certain depth and liferaft rack hydrostatic release automatically decouple, releasing life raft.
General requirements for life raft
1, construct of life raft, it can withstand exposure in all conditions to float up to 30 days;
2. The structure of life raft should be put into the water from the height of 18m, and the use of it can be satisfied;
3, under the roof support and without support, the floating raft can stand from the bottom of raft above at least 4.5m height repeated jumping board;
4, when the life raft load foot all occupants and is down and a sea anchor and liferaft should be in the calm water to 3 kn speed to be towed.
5, the life raft with protect occupants from exposure canopy. The canopy automatically support after raft landing and to surface of water, and rainwater collection facilities;
6, liferaft should be set 1 bow cable, its length should be not less than from the storage to the lightest seagoing waterline distance of 2 times or 15m, whichever is the greater.
7, each life raft should be equipped with requirement fittings;
8, the life raft should also set free floating device.
The storage of life raft should be able to manual release when the raft is free from securing device. Each liferaft storage shall be provided free floating device, so that each life raft free floating, and if is inflatable when sinking ship can automatically inflate. There should be no deck covering above the storage place of life raft, so as to avoid the free float of life raft when ship is sinking.
Unless certain transfer facilities are set up, the life raft should be kept in the range of hook, and the arrangement should enable all passengers to board raft quickly.
For throwing outboard landing raft storage, should be able to easily transfer to ship any shipboard landing, otherwise it should increase the total capacity per port for use in accordance with the provisions.
