Application:
Used to separate and grade soil samples, these sieves are also indispensable to entomologists who use them to successively reduce the bulk of soil material from which insects are collected. The stacked set includes four screen sieves with graduated wire mesh (no. 5, 10, 60, 230), one bottom pan and one lid. Soil sample or forest litter is placed in the top container, and the entire set agitated so that particles of various sizes drop through and are sorted by size. Sieves are 3" high, with a diameter of 63/4".
