What does virus sampling kit include?
The sampling kit of Medico consists of 100 swabs (pharyngeal swabs or nasal swabs are ok) and 100 virus sampling tubes (10ml of the tubes and 3ml of the preservation solution are popular).
Non-inactivated preservation solution: used for virus isolation and preservation. Freshly collected clinical samples should be transported to the laboratory within 48 hours under the condition of 2-8℃. If not transported to the laboratory for 48 hours, they should be stored at -80℃ or below. Samples should be inoculated and separated as soon as possible after they are sent to the laboratory. If the samples cannot be inoculated within 48 hours, they should be stored at -80℃ or below for a long time.
Inactivated storage solution: Used for the extraction and purification of Covid-19. Freshly collected clinical samples should be transported to the laboratory within 48 hours under the condition of 2-8℃. Those that cannot be transported to the laboratory within 48 hours should be stored at -80℃ or below. Covid-19 extraction should be carried out as soon as possible after samples are sent to the laboratory. If Covid-19 extraction cannot be carried out within 48 hours, it should be stored at -80℃ or below for a long time.
Therefore, appropriate virus transport media should be selected according to the sampling environment during patient sampling
