Bolt is a simple metal component,which is used to prevent the door opening. It is consisted of two parts, a movable rod and a "whistle". Usually the rod part is fixed to the door and the whistle part is fixed to the door frame with counterparts location. The structure is simpler than the locks, but has the same effection.

A latch is a type of mechanical fastener that is used to join two (or more) objects or surfaces together while allowing for the regular or eventual separation of the objects or surfaces.
