Gabion Baskets
Gabion Baskets are made of hexagonal galvanized or PVC coated double-twisted mild steel wire mesh. The wire mesh varies in diameter from 2mm to 8mm and is either welded or woven, galvanized or plastic coated, depending on application.
Gabion Baskets are widely used in many situations including stabilization of earth movement and erosion, river control, reservoirs, canal refurbishment, landscaping and retaining walls. This kind of product can be used in a range of applications from small domestic projects to large industrial schemes. They combine excellent stability of shape with ease of assembly controlling labor costs and speeding up job installation.

Gabion baskets can be produced in various lengths, widths and heights. In order to strengthen the baskets,
all the edges of the structure shall be selvedged with wire of greater diameter.
The wire mesh used in gabion baskets strictly conforms to EN10223-3 and gabions also meet the requirements of ASTM A975-97.
All wires used in Gabion Baskets and lacing wire have the tensile strength of 350-500N/mm according to EN10223-3, 2 BS1052/80 and ASTM A641-97. (The figures above are of the wire prior to manufacturing mesh).
