Weave type
Micronic (Dutch Weaves PDW and TDW)- The dutch weaves (PDW, TDW) are thick, strong; light-tight
meshes which are used primarily in fluid, vacuum, and pressure filtration of liquids and gases. These are
woven to precise tolerances and their openings are actually tiny curved, triangular tunnels.
Opening Size
Absolute Filtration Rating- A measure of retention, expressed in microns, that specifies the equivalent
diameter of the smallest particle from which the filter has a retention of 100%. In actual practice, most
manufacturers assign absolute ratings on the basis of retention in the range from 98% - 99.999999%.
Nominal Filter Rating- A measure of retention, expressed in microns, that specifies the equivalent diameter of
the smallest particle for which the filter has a retention somewhere in the range of 60-90%. Nominal filter rating is imprecise.
Dutch Weave Micronic Wire Mesh Specification
For Plain Dutch Weave
Wire diameter from 0.63/0.45 mm to 0.12/0.05 mm and mesh from 8/62 mesh to 90/550 mesh;
For Twilled Dutch Weave
Wire diameter from 0.10/0.07 mm to 0.035/0.019 mm and mesh from 91/787 mesh to 400/3100 mesh.
