Sieve Bend Screen

Sieve bend screen is a curved screen used for dewatering and the removal of fines from slurries. In terms of its operating mode, sieve bend screen falls into two classes: Static sieve bend screen and vibrating or rapped sieve bend screen. If a high percentage of particles are close to the separation size, blinding of sieve bends may result. The solution is to use a vibrating or rapped sieve bend screen.
Sieve bend is cross-flow screen. The profile wires are slightly tilted so that the leading edge is position higher which greatly increases the dewatering capacity. The unique design allows for blind free operation since only particles about half the aperture width pass through the screen, which in most applications eliminates blinding caused by near sized material. A sieve bend consists of a concave curved profile wire screen mounted in a frame with the screen openings perpendicular to the flow. A curved screen has greater capacity than a flat screen due to forces exerted as material flows against the curved surface.
