Perhaps that explains why the saucy upstart has had a place for decades in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1961 Mole, which has also been sold under the name "Sheriff", won the Concorso Internazionale del Mobile in Italy, suddenly focusing international attention on Brazilian design.
