Bare Aluminum conductor steel reinforced overhead power cable, consisting of agalvanized steel core, is surrounded by concentric layers of aluminum wire, andgrease if necessary. Aluminum stranded cable and steel core aluminum strandedcable has the advantage: the construction is simple, easy to lay and repair,cost of the circuitry is low, and capacity of the transmission is large, usefulto lay across the rivers and valley. It is used in the circuitry of all gradesof voltage broadly.
Installation:
It is recommended that the installation instructions indicated by the LocalElectric Code, or any equivalent, be followed, so that the safeguarding ofpersons and the integrity of the product will not be affected by deficiencies inthe installation.
bare Aluminum conductor steel reinforced overhead power cable is concentrically stranded conductor with oneor more layers of hard drawn 1350-H19 aluminium wire on galvanized steel wirecore. The core can be single wire or stranded depending on the size. Steel corewire is available in Class A , B or Class C galvanization for corrosionprotection. Additional corrosion protection is available through the applicationof grease to the core or infusion of the completed conductor with grease.
The proportion of steel and aluminium in an ACSR conductor can be selected based onthe mechanical strength and current carrying capacity demanded by eachapplication.
bare Aluminum conductor steel reinforced overhead power cable are recognized for their record of economy, dependability andfavourable strength / weight ratio. ACSR conductors combine the light weight andgood conductivity of aluminium with the high tensile strength and ruggedness ofsteel. In line design, this can provide higher tensions, less sag, and longerspan lengths than obtainable with most other types of overhead conductors.
