Samarium cobalt magnets are composed of samarium, cobalt and iron. These rare earth magnets are extremely strong for their small size, metallic in appearance and found in simple shapes such as rings, blocks and discs.
According the composition, we divide two of SMCO: Sm2CO17 and SmCo5
According the process, we divide to sintered Smco and bonded Smco
Applications
SmCo5
Compare Sm2Co17, the price is higher, it is not easy brittle The (BH) max range is from 16 to 25, maximum working-temperature 250°C. The physical character and ductibility is better than Sm2Co17, so SmCo5 is easier to be machined thin thickness disc or ring wall and complex shapes which Sm2Co17 are difficult to make.
Applications
²Generator
²microphone
²vibration sensor
²ignition device
²a bomb detonated
²meter
²magnetic recording
²Traveling wave tubes
²backward wave tubes
²cathode ray tubes
²orthogonal magnetic amplifier
²klystron
²microwave devices
