The VCI Diagnostic Box is the core interface for the mainframe to communicate with vehicles.
It provides 2 method of connection.

1.Cable ConnectionCable Connection
With one end connect to the mainframe and the other end connect to the vehicle diagnostic socket,
VCI is the bridge for communication between the mainframe and vehicle. The VCI diagnostic box
have two ports, a DB15 port and a OBD II port. Use the main cable to connect the interface DB15
to the mainframe and the OBDII interface can connect to the adaptors (Does not need adaptor for
connect to vehicle with OBD II diagnostic socket).
2.Bluetooth Wireless Connection
VCI diagnostic boxes is with a built-in Bluetooth communication module, by switch in the
mainframe setting menu from 'online diagnosis' to 'wireless diagnosis'. The mainframe will
communicate with the VCI box by Bluetooth. Not necessary to use the main cable.

1. Basic Function

1.1 Retrieve ECU information
In some electronic control system it is displayed as "system identification" or "System
Information". This function is to read ECU version information, engine model, part
number and date of manufacture and other information.

The PS2 read fault codes from the ECU fault memory, and analysis to determine the
failure of the vehicle according to the contents of the fault codes.
The fault code can only be cleared after fix the problem on the vehicle. The fault can't be
cleared if the problem exist with the vehicle.
Get real time data of all the sensors in the electronic system, by compare the real
time data with the specs, problems can be easily determined.
Purpose:To send actuate signal to the sensors and check if the sensors respond
to the request, problem will be determined if the sensor do not respond. The main
actuator for actuation test:
( 1) fault light: to determine whether there is fault with the engine and circuits.
( 2) cold start light: The electric heating devices. In the environment at low
temperatures ( 0 degrees Celsius) , the intake air temperature sensor sensing the
temperature of the inlet, when the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius, the
heating indicator light on and the engine ECU controls the heating relay controller work
installed in the engine intake manifold through the heated inlet flange of the fence on the
heating, the heating time depends on the inlet temperature, after heating the heating
instructions light off, then the engine could be started.
2. Special Function Explanation(Varies from model to model)
1) Oil Reset: Reset the Oil Maintenance Light on the dashboard after replace engine
oil.
2) SAS reset:The SAS system need to be re- programmed after change the airbags or
safe belts.
3) Throttle adjustment: after power outages, disassembly throttle control unit, replace the throttle control unit, the replacement of the engine and replace the
engine control unit. , throttle must be adjusted.
4) Mileage Reset: Reset the number of total vehicle mileage.
5) EEPROM access: PCM with EEPROM, re- program with an external computer
through a terminal interface.
