Reflector for FTTH
Fiber bragg grating reflector for FTTH is used to measure whether the optical line is normal or damaged. When the optical measurement system send a certain frequency light waves from the front end of fiber to the end of fiber, the FBG reflects the wavelength (1650nm ± 5nm) waves, if the optical measurement system detects this wavelength, it is proved that the optical line is normal, no fiber damage and breakage, and other communication wavelength which are not inherent FBG reflection wavelength, will pass normally, does not affect normal communications.
Applications:
FTTH (fiber-to-the-home): Fiber reaches the boundary of the living space, such as a box on the outside wall of a home. Passive optical networks and point-to-point ethernet are architectures that deliver triple-play services over FTTH networks directly from an operator's central office.
Currently in FTTH project, SC-type and TF attenuator reflector are widely used, SC-type structure require on-site connections on one side, TF attenuator type can be plugged directly on both sides.
