Needle bearings are roller bearing with cylindrical roller bearings. Relative to its diameter, roller is thin and long. This is called needle roller. Although it has a small section, the load bearing capacity of the bearing is still high. This bearing has thin and long needle bearing roller (roller diameter D ≤ 5mm, L/D ≥ 2.5, L as the roller length), so the radial structure is compact. When the inner diameter size and load capacity are same to other types of bearings, the outer diameter size is smallest. The bearing is used in the bearing with the radial installation and size restricted especially.

The advantages and use of needle roller bearing
With thin and long needle bearing roller (roller length is 3~10 times of the diameter, the diameter is generally not more than 5mm), so the radial structure is compact. When its inner diameter size and load capacity are same to other types of bearings, the outer diameter is minimum. It is especially for the supporting structure that radial installation size is restricted. According to the use for different occasions, machining precision and the surface quality of the bearing rings is different.
