Double mechanical seal with Single Unit Assembly
Seal faces remain protected from contamination
The preassembly in clean environment secure that seal faces remain protected as they are in contact already from the assembly line. Thanks to this, the risk for contaminated seal faces during mounting is therefore eliminated. Mounting of single seals or relapped seals increase the risk for contaminated seal surfaces causing leakage and/or excessive wear.
Springs are protected from corrosive pump media and clogging
The springs are located in the barrier fluid side of the seals, completely shielded from the pump media to ensure trouble-free operation.
Inner seal and outer seal are replaced at the same time, securing overall sealing reliability
The outer seal and inner seal can not be replaced or renovated separately. As the lifetime of an inner seal is impossible to estimate, the inner seal is therefore automatically replaced whenever the outer seal is replaced due to wear. In addition, remounting of separate seal rings that have been running for some time may cause excessive leakage due to the fact that seal ring faces "wear in" matching grooves. If removed and installed again, the grooves will not match each other.
Thorough testing secure air tightness
All Flygt Plug-in seals are thoroughly pre-tested for tightness before delivery. The seal units are mounted in a seal cavity, similar to the ones in the products. A differential pressure is applied when the inner and outer seals are tested independently, for air tightness while rotating.
No special service tools required.
The Plug-in seal is easy and quick to mount in the pump. All double seal components are supplied and assembled in a tandem arrangement incorporated into one single unit assembly.
