Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets are composed of samarium, cobalt and iron.These rare earth magnets are extremely strong for their small size, metallic in appearance and found in simple shapes such as rings, blocks and discs.SmCo magnets are available in a number of different grades that span a wide range of properties and application requirements.
Surface Treatments of samarium cobalt magnets:
The corrosion resistance of samarium cobalt magnets are considered good while that of NdFeB is considered poor. Coatings for corrosion resistance are therefore not generally required for samarium cobalt magnets
