Yokohama Fender Description:
 
Yokohama pneumatic  Fenders which is made of synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheet with compressed air inside to enable it to float on the water and work as a shock absorber between two ships (ship-to-ship), or between ships and berthing structures when they come alongside each other on the water.
The yokohama fenders are kind of a cylindrical air-bag with hemispherical heads at both end. Basic body construction of this fender consists of an outer rubber layer, cord layers and inner rubber layer. All of these are vulcanized together. End flanges are at both end for convenience of air charge and other purposes.

 Ship to Ship applications
After selection of the correct size fender suitable for the combined energy of the two vessels, the fenders should be equally spaced along the length of the smallest vessel. At each end it is recommended that a smaller secondary fender is installed to protect against rolling due to swell and wind during transfer operations. The fenders can be slung individually from mooring points along the deck or all linked together in a line fastened only at each end of the vessel.
 The structure of Pneumatic Fender:
1. The outer rubber
Outside on the ball of rubber layer, which is used to protect by skeleton material and lining rubber ball from external force damage or wear.
2. Cord fabric reinforcement layer 
Reinforcement layer is winded  by nylon cord layer and it maintains the inner pressure of fender.
3. The inner rubber 
On the ball inside the rubber layer, which is used to prevent gas leakage and stay on the ball pressure.
4. The end of the flange
On the ball at the ends of the metal parts, can be installed charging valve and relief valve.
