Different types of cnc laser cutting machine's process
1. Fusion cutting
In this process of laser cutting machine, high-pressure gas is used to blow away the material from the area on the sheet metal that needs to be cut. The material that needs to be cut is first heated to a very high temperature and then a jet of high-pressure gas is then allowed to hit the material at a pre-defined spot. This type of Laser cutting is usually used to cut metals of different types. One main advantage of using this laser cutting process is to minimize the power that is being used in the process.
2. Vaporization cutting
In this Laser metal cutting process, a high-energy beam is allowed to fall on the material. Due to this, material gets heated and reaches its boiling point. At this stage, key holes are created on the surface of the material at the desired spot. As the high energy beam continues to fall on the key hole, the walls of the key hole are vaporized and the hole becomes gradually enlarged. This type of cutting is usually used to cut materials made out of wood, thermo plastics and carbon material.
3. Thermal stress cracking
This method is usually employed in cutting glass and other brittle materials. When a high-energy beam falls on the brittle material, it expands due to the heat generated and eventually cracks.
4. Reactive cutting
This type of cnc laser cutting machine is usually used to cut harder materials that are over 1mm thick such as carbon steel. This cnc laser cutting machine is very much similar to Oxygen torch cutting with the only difference being the laser beam is used as an ignition source.
