Four major basic structural components of automotive connecter
First, contact, which is the core component for automotive connector to accomplish electric connecting function. It normally consists of a positive contact and a negative one, and the two form contact pair; electric connecting will be accomplished via plugging of positive and negative contacts.
The positive contact is a rigid one, of which the shape is cylindrical (round contact pin), rectangular columnar (rectangular contact pin) or pancake (contact pin).
