Bare Copper Conductor
Introduction
Bare solid conductor consisting of one wire of circular cross-section.
Bare concentric-lay-stranded conductor consisting of a number of circular wires of the same nominal diameter, having a central core wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid wires. When the conductor consists of more than one layer, alternate layers are stranded in opposite directions.
Application
Used in overhead transmission and distribution lines for bonding and grounding electrical circuits and systems or on insulators.
