ASTM A517 steel boiler plate is the Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, High-Strength, Alloy Steel, Quenched and Tempered material suitable to use in the boilers and pressure vessels application. Under this specification mechanical properties are depends on the plate thickness and the grade.For example 2.5" in thickness and under ASTM A517 steel boiler plate will have minimum Yield Strength of 100 ksi. Over 2.5" thick ASTM A517 steel boiler plate will have a minimum Yield strength of 90 ksi.Typical applications include unfired vessels and tanks.
