ePTFE Joint Sealant Tape
Description
ePTFE Joint Sealant Tapeis an inorganic sealant for static applications made of 100% PTFE . A unique process converts PTFE to a micro-porous fibrous structure,resulting a sealant with an unsurpassed combination of mechanical and chemical properties. It is supplied with a self-adhesive strip for easy fitting.
Application
ePTFE joint tape is recommended as a gasket tape in steel, glass-lined, PVC and fiberglass pipe flanges, fume ducts, concrete lids, heat exchangers, fiber glass reinforced plastic vessels, pump housing flanges, steam vessel flanges, manhole and manhole covers, ceramic joints, ventilation ducts, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, water supply systems and turbine cases.
Technical data:
Material: 100% PTFE, soft and excellent elasticity.
Temperature range: - 240°C up to +260°C, for short periods up to +310°C
Chemical resistance: resistant against all chemicals from pH 0-14 – except molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine at high temperature and pressure
Pressure Limit: 20Mpa (or 2900 psi; or 200kgf/cm2)
Density: 0.75 g/cm³, +/- 0.1g/cm³ (for rectangular cross-sections only)
Elongation: 20%
Matrix Tensile Strength: 30Mpa (4260 psi)
Creep Relaxation (ASTM F38): 51%
Sealablity (ASTM F 37A): 0.1 ml/hr
