The High Pressure Mercury Vapor lamp is a descendant of the Mercury Vapor Lamp. It consists of
a fused silica discharge tube, containing a few milligrams of metallic Mercury and traces of
argon in a few milli-Torr vacuum. Four electrodes, two main ones and two auxiliary ones, are
sealed against the ends of the fused silica tube.
