11. Application: Grade P460NL2, so called for having a minimum yield strength of 460 MPa, is is a high quality pressure vessel steel grade for use in boiler and pressure vessel fabrication. It is a normalised fine grain steel with good weldability characteristics. P460NL2 is also used in sour gas applications where the steel will be HIC Tested to gauge the materials susceptibility to hydrogen induced cracking Weldable fine grain steels P460NL2 has to be done Normalized when processing in mill.
