Soluble in water, ethyl alcohol, glycerinum, ether and volatile oil.
The water solution is faintly acid.
It can volatilize with vapor and loses one molecular water at 100-105℃, which is metaboric acid; heating for long time at 104-160℃ continuously, it is pyroboric acid; boric oxide at higher temperature.
