Alloy 317L containing 3 to 4% molybdenum is preferred to Alloys 316 or 316L Stainless Steel Plates which contain 2 to 3% molybdenum in applications requiring enhanced pitting and general corrosion resistance.Alloys 316L Stainless Steel Plates are considerably more resistant than any of the other chromium-nickel types to solutions of sulfuric acid.In addition to excellent corrosion resistance and strength properties, the Alloys 316L Stainless Steel Plates also provide the excellent fabricability and formability which are typical of the austenitic stainless steels.
